PDMA Issues Alert for Intense Heatwave in Punjab

The Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) alerts about the prevailing heatwave across Punjab today, with temperatures forecasted to reach 45-50 degrees Celsius, intensifying its impact.

Certain districts like Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Multan may experience severe conditions, prompting PDMA’s efforts to provide clean water, especially in areas like Cholistan.

To address public health concerns, PDMA has set up heatwave counters in all Punjab hospitals and issued guidelines for necessary medicines.

Residents are urged to stay hydrated, avoid sun exposure, and seek medical help for heat-related symptoms.

Despite PDMA’s earlier expectation of the heatwave’s end in Lahore today, forecasts indicate prolonged high temperatures, causing health issues and distress for both humans and animals nationwide.
