PCB to increase women's cricket contracts & support

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Today, Nida Dar, captain of the Pakistan women’s team, and members of the national women’s squad met with Zaka Ashraf, Chairman of the PCB Management Committee.

The meeting took place on the fringes of the Lahore Qalandars’ Women Player Development Program orientation, to which Zaka Ashraf was invited as the special guest. Tania Mallick, the head of the Women Wing, and Salman Naseer, the Chief Operating Officer of the PCB, were also present during the meeting.

During the meeting, Chairman of the Management Committee Zaka Ashraf recognized the passion and contribution of female cricketers to the sport. On the momentous occasion of the 76th Independence Day, he announced the first-ever domestic contracts for women cricketers, as well as a significant increase in central contracts for women cricketers.

Zaka Ashraf reaffirmed his commitment to advancing women’s cricket across the country and promised them of his continuous support. He emphasized the necessity of giving women cricketers with equal chances, resources, and facilities, including more cricket grounds, so that they can flourish at both the national and international levels.

“I am extremely pleased to witness the remarkable progress our women cricketers have made in recent times,” Zaka Ashraf stated. These sportsmen have extraordinary talent and are true advocates for our country. Their effort on the field reflects their dedication to the sport and the pride they bring to Pakistan.”

“As we move forward, the PCB has decided to improve their contracts and our focus is to ensure that our women cricketers receive the respect, support, and opportunities they need to do well in this game.”

Nida Dar and the women’s cricket team welcomed Zaka Ashraf on his recent appointment as Chairman of the Management Committee and praised his aggressive actions aimed at growing women’s cricket in Pakistan. The players expressed their excitement for the future of women’s cricket under Zaka Ashraf’s leadership and thanked him for his ongoing support of women’s cricket.
