The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has suspended batter Haider Ali on disciplinary grounds after he was accused of sexual assault in Manchester during the Pakistan Shaheens’ recent tour of England.
Haider Ali was arrested and later released on bail, with UK authorities confirming he remains under investigation. He is required to appear again in two weeks and is barred from leaving the country under his bail conditions.
The PCB said it will provide Haider with legal assistance to protect his rights during the case. His suspension will remain in place until the legal proceedings conclude, after which the board will decide on any further disciplinary measures. No additional details will be disclosed until the matter is resolved.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Shaheens, captained by Muhammad Irfan Khan, are set to depart for Darwin, Australia, today to compete in the Top End T20 Series from 14–24 August. They will open the tournament against Bangladesh ‘A’.
