The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced that Pakistan Super League Season 11 will begin on March 26, but matches will be held without spectators. Due to logistical constraints, all games will take place only in Lahore and Karachi.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi stated that fixtures will be played behind closed doors until the situation improves, and the opening ceremony has been called off. He confirmed that venues in other cities, including Faisalabad and Peshawar, will not host matches this season.
The decision was made after consultations with the federal government, including the prime minister and security authorities, to ensure smooth conduct of the tournament.
To manage financial setbacks, the PCB has decided to compensate franchises for losses caused by the absence of crowds, while fans who purchased tickets will receive full refunds.
PSL Chief Executive Salman Naseer said that franchises were kept informed throughout the process. Despite the restrictions, organizers remain optimistic about strong television and online viewership.
Foreign players are expected to arrive soon, and a revised schedule will be released to minimize travel between the two host cities.
Additionally, the PCB has begun legal action against players who withdrew from the tournament despite having contractual obligations.
