PCB Releases Updated List for PSL 10 Draft Amid Rescheduled Event

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has released an updated list of foreign players ahead of the PSL 10 players’ draft, scheduled for January 13 in Lahore. The revised list includes big names such as Australian stars David Warner, Matthew Short, and Riley Meredith, along with England’s Jonny Bairstow and Chris Woakes. However, Australian cricketer Steve Smith and New Zealand’s Kane Williamson have both declined invitations to participate, citing other commitments, though efforts to convince Williamson to join are still ongoing.

The updated list also features players like Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman, England’s Adil Rashid, and New Zealand’s Finn Allen. However, the participation of Adil Rashid remains uncertain, and PCB is working on securing No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for the English players. Notably, Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan, who is currently under a bowling ban, will only be able to participate as a batter.

In addition to the player updates, the PSL 10 draft has been rescheduled for January 13 after initial plans to hold it earlier were postponed due to predicted rain. A rehearsal for the event is scheduled for January 12 to ensure smooth execution. The draft will now take place in Lahore at Bara Dari, replacing the previously planned Gwadar venue. Multan Sultans’ owner, Ali Jahangir Tareen, criticized the management’s decision to choose Gwadar without consulting franchise owners.

The draft order for the platinum category is already set, with Lahore Qalandars picking first, followed by Karachi Kings, Quetta Gladiators, Peshawar Zalmi, Multan Sultans, and Islamabad United.
