Pakistan Cricket Board Postpones Domestic Tournaments Due to Border Tensions

In light of escalating tensions along the Pakistan-India border, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the postponement of several domestic tournaments on Saturday.

The affected tournaments include the Grade II President’s Trophy, the Regional Inter-District Cup, and the Under-19 Inter-District One-Day Tournament. The PCB clarified that these competitions would resume once the security situation improves.

Decision Made in Consultation with Security Authorities

A senior PCB official, speaking anonymously, confirmed that the decision was made after consultations with regional cricket associations and security agencies.

“The safety of players and officials remains our top priority. Given the current uncertainty and movement restrictions in certain areas, it is not feasible to continue the competitions at this time,” the official explained.

Heightened Security in Affected Areas

The ongoing border situation has prompted increased security measures across several districts, particularly in Punjab and Azad Jammu & Kashmir, with heightened military presence reported in these regions.
