PCB Denies Claims of Leadership Changes in ODI and Test Squads

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has firmly rejected media reports claiming leadership changes were being planned in the national Test and ODI teams.

In a statement on Monday, the PCB clarified that Mohammad Rizwan will remain ODI captain and Shan Masood will continue leading the Test side, dismissing rumors of their removal.

Speculation over the weekend suggested Salman Ali Agha might replace Rizwan in ODIs and Saud Shakeel could take over the Test role from Shan Masood, following Pakistan’s recent poor performances.

The PCB stressed that no such discussion has taken place in selection committee meetings. However, the wording of its statement — saying the matter has not been discussed “yet” — leaves room for possible future changes, echoing past denials before eventual decisions.

For now, Rizwan and Shan retain their captaincies as Pakistan gears up for upcoming international fixtures.
