PCB Considers Shortened T20 Series Amid Bangladesh’s Delayed Response

The future of the T20 International series between Pakistan and Bangladesh is uncertain as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) contemplates reducing the planned five-match series to three games. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has yet to provide an official response, causing delays and raising doubts about the original schedule.

Initially set to begin on May 25 with matches in Faisalabad and Lahore, the series faces logistical hurdles due to the rescheduling of the HBL Pakistan Super League and concerns over player fatigue expressed by Bangladeshi players. To simplify arrangements, PCB is considering hosting all matches at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.

The revised schedule proposes games from May 27 to June 5, but the BCB’s silence leaves the plan hanging in the balance. Reports indicate reluctance from some Bangladesh players to commit to a full five-match series given their packed cricket calendars.

As the countdown continues, cricket fans await clarity on the series’ format and venues amid the ongoing negotiations.
