According to reliable sources, the decision to bring Aslam on board was made following the recommendation of newly-appointed white-ball head coach Aqib Javed. Aslam, known for his technical expertise and detailed approach, has previously been part of Pakistan’s support staff, where his throw-down sessions became well-known for improving the batting techniques of top-order players.
This appointment comes in response to Pakistan’s recent struggles with batting, particularly highlighted during their T20I series against Australia. In that series, Usman Khan was the only player to score a half-century, while star batsman Babar Azam struggled, contributing only 47 runs in total.
Aslam’s appointment marks a fresh approach under Aqib Javed’s leadership, aiming to refine Pakistan’s batting strategy and improve consistency. The team’s upcoming series in Zimbabwe will provide the first test of Aslam’s impact as Pakistan’s Batting Coach.
