Veteran actor Paresh Rawal has officially confirmed his return to Hera Pheri 3, putting months of speculation to rest and reigniting excitement among fans of the iconic comedy franchise. The film will see the beloved trio of Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal reunite nearly two decades after Phir Hera Pheri (2006).
The much-anticipated third installment, long delayed due to creative disagreements and contractual issues, finally began filming in April this year. Rawal’s involvement had earlier been questioned when reports surfaced claiming he exited the project after receiving a Rs11 lakh advance—an action that allegedly led to a legal notice of Rs25 crore from Cape of Good Films, co-owned by Akshay Kumar.

However, the veteran actor has now addressed the matter, clarifying during a podcast with Himanshu Mehta that the situation was blown out of proportion. “There’s no controversy,” Rawal stated. “When people love something so much, they naturally become extra careful… It’s our responsibility to deliver.”
He added humorously, “Pehle bhi aane hi waali thi yeh film… bas humein thoda fine-tune karna tha,” suggesting the delay was merely a matter of refining the project. The film, originally set to be directed by Farhad Samji, is now in the hands of Lootcase director Rajesh Krishnan.
With the original Hera Pheri (2000) holding cult status and its sequel also a massive hit, the return of the original cast has sparked renewed hope among fans eager to see if the magic can be recreated on screen.
