Pakistan’s textile industry has shown strong performance, with textile exports reaching $6.39 billion in the first four months of the current fiscal year. This is a 4 percent increase compared to $6.14 billion during the same period last year.
According to official data, textile exports in October 2025 totaled $161 million. This represents a slight decline of 0.57 percent from September 2025. However, the October figure remains close to last year’s $162 million, indicating stability in the sector despite minor monthly fluctuations.
Domestic textile production also demonstrated growth during the period. Reports show that production in the first quarter of the fiscal year increased by 1.88 percent. September 2025 alone recorded a notable 5.95 percent rise, highlighting improvements in efficiency and output.
Analysts say these trends emphasize the resilience of Pakistan’s textile sector, which continues to play a key role in the national economy. The industry contributes significantly to employment, foreign exchange earnings, and overall economic stability.
The government and industry bodies have focused on policies to boost textile exports, including incentives, infrastructure improvements, and better access to international markets. These measures aim to strengthen Pakistan’s global position in the textile trade and sustain long-term growth.
Despite minor month-to-month variations in export values, the sector is on track to maintain steady growth throughout the fiscal year. Experts believe that rising production, combined with export initiatives, will help the industry meet global demand and enhance Pakistan’s competitiveness in the international market.
