Pakistan’s T20I Squad Arrives in New Zealand for Upcoming Five-Match Series

Pakistan’s T20I squad, led by captain Agha Salman, touched down in New Zealand on Thursday in preparation for their five-match series against Michael Bracewell’s Blackcaps. The highly anticipated series will begin on March 16, with Pakistan aiming for a strong performance on foreign soil.

The squad will rest before resuming training on Friday at 1 PM local time. Among the team are two exciting debutants, Abdul Samad and Hassan Nawaz, both receiving their first national call-ups. The tour also includes three ODIs, wrapping up on April 5.

New Zealand has named a 15-member squad, captained by Michael Bracewell, featuring seven players from their 2025 ICC Champions Trophy campaign. Notably, senior spinner Ish Sodhi and pacer Ben Sears return after missing recent competitions due to injury. Kyle Jamieson and Will O’Rourke will participate in the first three T20Is, with Matt Henry joining for the final two.

The last T20I series between the two teams in April 2024 ended in a 2-2 draw after rain washed out the first game in Rawalpindi, setting the stage for another thrilling contest.
