Pakistan’s Economy Expands Significantly with Record GDP Growth and Rising Per Capita Income
Pakistan’s economy has recorded substantial growth in the current fiscal year, with the country’s GDP increasing by $39.3 billion to reach $410.96 billion, according to data from the Ministry of Planning and Development. This growth marks a significant rise from last year’s GDP of $371.66 billion.
Measured in Pakistani rupees, the economy’s size surged to Rs114.7 trillion, up from Rs105.1 trillion in the previous fiscal year, reflecting a strong nominal GDP increase.

Per capita income also improved, rising to Rs509,174 from Rs475,281, although it remained below the government’s target of Rs543,968. In dollar terms, per capita income grew by $144, increasing from $1,680 to $1,824.
Economists view this expansion as a positive sign for Pakistan’s economic health, while noting ongoing challenges such as inflation, employment, and the need for structural reforms.
