Pakistan’s left-arm spinner Noman Ali made history as the first Pakistani spinner to claim 8 wickets in the fourth innings of a Test match. His remarkable performance helped Pakistan secure a 152-run victory over England in the second Test, ending an 11-match home winless streak that had lasted since March 2022.
On a spin-friendly pitch in Multan, Noman dismantled England’s batting order, taking 8 wickets for 46 runs in the final innings. This career-best achievement also gave him his first 10-wicket match haul, with a total of 11 wickets, surpassing Mushtaq Ahmed’s record of 7 for 56 set in Christchurch in 1995.

England, starting Day 4 at 36/2, couldn’t handle Noman’s spin and were bowled out for 144, falling short of the target set by Pakistan. The worn pitch favored Pakistan, with Noman’s brilliance securing a much-needed victory and ending a run of poor home results, including seven defeats.
This win not only cemented Noman Ali’s status among Pakistan’s elite bowlers but also revitalized the team’s Test form at home.
