Pakistan’s IT Exports Jump 34.9%, Surpass $1.2 Billion in 4 Months

Pakistan’s IT exports have seen a remarkable 34.9% growth during the first four months of the current financial year, surpassing $1.2 billion, according to Shaza Fatima Khawaja, the Minister of State for IT. This increase of over $300 million compared to the $891 million recorded in the same period last year underscores the rapid growth of the sector.

In October 2024 alone, IT exports surged by 38.6%, reaching $230 million, further reflecting the sector’s upward momentum. The minister credited the government’s proactive measures, with ongoing initiatives under the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) aimed at fostering innovation, enhancing infrastructure, and improving global competitiveness.

Khawaja emphasized the government’s commitment to sustaining this growth and expanding Pakistan’s presence in the global IT market, with full institutional backing from the SIFC.

Additionally, Pakistan’s overall exports grew by 13.55% in the first four months of the fiscal year, crossing the $10.88 billion mark, representing a $1.29 billion increase compared to the same period last year. This broad increase in exports indicates the country’s expanding economic footprint across multiple sectors.
