Bilal Bin Saqib, Pakistan’s Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Crypto and Blockchain and CEO of the Pakistan Crypto Council, held a high-level meeting with Robert ‘Bo’ Hines, Executive Director of the US President’s Council on Digital Assets, at the White House.

The meeting centered around digital asset innovation, Bitcoin integration, and the future of decentralized finance. Both parties expressed a shared commitment to fostering collaboration between the US and Pakistan, aiming to enhance regulatory harmony and support the development of blockchain-powered economic ecosystems.
According to the Ministry of Finance, discussions included strategies for promoting youth-led innovation and using blockchain to boost financial inclusion across Pakistan.
The meeting follows Pakistan’s major announcement at the Bitcoin 2025 Conference in Las Vegas, where it unveiled plans to launch a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve (SBR)—making Pakistan one of the first Asian nations to incorporate Bitcoin into its sovereign asset portfolio.
Minister Bilal highlighted the country’s broader vision, which includes establishing AI-powered data zones and allocating 2,000 megawatts of energy for Bitcoin mining. These initiatives aim to repurpose surplus power for economic development, digital infrastructure, and job creation.
“I see Pakistan as a digital leader in the Global South,” said Bilal. “We’re laying the foundation for a future-proof economy through crypto, AI, and youth empowerment.”
Minister Bilal also held a separate session with the White House Counsel’s Office to align legal perspectives on digital finance innovation.
As global regulation around crypto evolves, Pakistan positions itself at the forefront—leveraging public-private partnerships to lead in digital asset adoption, economic modernization, and international collaboration.
