Pakistani Player Breaks BBL Record

Pakistan’s fast bowler Haris Rauf created history in the Big Bash League during the high-profile Melbourne derby clash.
He became the fastest bowler to reach fifty wickets in BBL history, achieving the milestone in remarkable fashion.

Rauf reached the landmark while playing for Melbourne Stars against city rivals Melbourne Renegades in an intense encounter.
His 50th wicket came by dismissing aggressive batter Jake Fraser-McGurk during the Renegades’ batting innings.

The Pakistani pacer did not stop there and struck again to remove Will Sutherland later in the match.
With that dismissal, Rauf increased his overall tally to 51 wickets in just 30 Big Bash League matches.

Previously, the record for the fastest bowler to claim 50 BBL wickets was held by John Hastings.
The Australian all-rounder had achieved the feat in 38 matches, making Rauf’s achievement even more impressive.

Bowling with pace and accuracy, Rauf finished his spell with figures of two for 31 in four overs.
His breakthroughs helped the Stars restrict the Renegades as they attempted to build momentum in the middle overs.

Rauf is currently the leading wicket-taker of the ongoing BBL season with 15 wickets in eight innings.
Meanwhile, Renegades wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan scored 21 off 20 balls before being dismissed by Marcus Stoinis.
