Pakistani Passport Sees Global Improvement, Visa-Free Access Expands to 32 Countries

Pakistani citizens can now travel to 32 countries either visa-free or with visa-on-arrival, as the nation’s passport climbs to the 100th position in the latest Henley & Partners global ranking—a significant rise from its 113th place in 2021.

This improvement is being hailed as a result of Pakistan’s growing diplomatic engagement and strengthened international relations. The announcement follows a key bilateral development between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which now allows holders of diplomatic and official passports from both countries to travel without a visa.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar confirmed the agreement on social media platform X, calling it a major step toward enhancing institutional cooperation. He signed the mutual visa exemption agreement with UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan during the 12th session of the Pakistan-UAE Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC).

Officials say the agreement will ease official travel, facilitate high-level exchanges, and reflect the deepening trust between Islamabad and Abu Dhabi.
