Pakistani security forces conducted a successful operation near the Afghan border in Zhob district. Over two days, they killed 47 Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terrorists. The operation took place on August 7 and 8 in the Sambaza area.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the first phase resulted in 33 terrorists being killed. These militants were reportedly aiming to destabilize the region. The TTP fighters are also known locally as Fitna-ul-Khawarij.
The clearance operation continued late into the night near the Afghan border. During further clashes on August 8 and 9, 14 more terrorists were killed. Security forces also recovered a large number of weapons, ammunition, and explosives from the militants.
The ISPR praised the determination of Pakistan’s armed forces to protect the country’s borders, especially near the Afghan border. The army spokesperson emphasized their commitment to rooting out terrorism completely from Pakistan.
National leaders, including the President, Prime Minister, and Federal Interior Minister, have commended the bravery of the security forces. They assured the nation that terrorism will be eliminated with unity and support.
The operation near the Afghan border highlights ongoing efforts to secure Pakistan’s frontier. Authorities remain focused on preventing any threat to peace and stability in the region.
