A heartbreaking incident has occurred in Malta, where a British-Pakistani man and his young son from Islamabad drowned during a family vacation.
Raja Qadus Banaras had taken his family to a beach outing when a sudden wave pulled his son into the sea. In a desperate effort to save the child, he immediately jumped in after him. Unfortunately, both were overpowered by the strong currents and could not make it back to safety.
Local authorities responded promptly and launched a search operation, later recovering both bodies from the water. They were transported to a nearby hospital, where the deaths were confirmed. Police have stated that initial findings suggest the incident was a tragic accident, with no criminal involvement suspected.
The bereaved family has reached out to the Pakistani High Commission for support in repatriating the deceased back to Pakistan.
