Burgers are renowned globally for their diverse flavors, and China is set to add a unique twist with the inclusion of donkey meat from Pakistan.

This development marks a significant step in agricultural trade between the two nations, following a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Pakistan’s Ministry of National Food Security and Research and China’s General Administration of Customs. The MoU establishes quarantine standards for the export of donkey meat and hides to China.

Companies like the Hangeng Group are expected to lead this trade, with plans for a donkey slaughterhouse in the Gwadar Free Zone capable of processing over 200,000 donkeys. Pakistan, home to around 6 million donkeys, is poised to meet the rising demand for donkey products in China.

This initiative not only broadens China’s food market but also creates new economic avenues for Pakistan, demonstrating the potential for enhanced agricultural collaboration between the two countries.
