ISLAMABAD – In light of the financial challenges facing Pakistan, the federal government has implemented a ban on foreign educational tours for bureaucrats. This decision, approved by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, was formalized through a notification from the Establishment Division.
Effective immediately, the ban affects participants of the 121st Management Course, who will no longer be allowed to undertake foreign study tours. Furthermore, future management courses will also be prohibited from including foreign educational trips.

Historically, these tours aimed to enhance bureaucrats’ skills by exposing them to different educational systems and innovative approaches. Such experiences were intended to inspire fresh solutions to local challenges and facilitate the adoption of new ideas and technologies. However, due to the current economic situation, the government has deemed it necessary to halt these initiatives.
