LHC raises the super tax threshold

Judge: It is illegal to collect super taxes.
The Lahore High Court (LHC) heard requests to halt the collection of super tax on Monday and prolonged the prohibition on super tax recovery.
The court gave instructions on how to combine all of the applications. Hunza Mills’ argument that the collecting of super tax violated the law was heard by Justice Jawad Hassan.
Last Monday, the Sindh High Court (SHC) invalidated a 10% super tax, describing it as “discriminatory” and “ultra vires the Constitution.” The government cannot impose a super tax of between 1% and 10%, according to the court.
