An armed robber in Baldia revealed to be PTI’s LG candidate.

Police apprehended a man for armed robbery in Baldia Town’s Madina Colony. In an unexpected turn of events, the accused was a candidate for local body elections for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

The incident raises questions about the vetting process for political candidates, as well as the potential consequences for public safety.

The incident occurred in the Baldia Town area of Karachi, where a PTI local body candidate was caught looting people. Furious citizens handed over the accused, identified as Ghulam Nabi, to police.

Locals displayed great bravery in thwarting a robbery attempt by three outlaws at a shopping mall. The citizens apprehended one of the robbers, but the other two escaped.

He was tortured by the people after being caught looting before being handed over to the police. According to SSP Kemari Fida Hussain Janwari, the accused was involved in criminal activities even before running for local councillor on the PTI ticket, where he received 305 votes from Ward 4 of UC6.

During the interrogation, Ghulam Nabi admitted to his involvement in other crimes, including stealing a motorbike and robbing a medicine company’s van in Ittehad Town’s Baldia neighbourhood. Police arrested him while he was injured and recovered weapons from his possession.
