Pakistan with China's assistance, will issue certifications to 300,000 IT experts

Prime Minister’s Coordinator Rana Ehsan Afzal announced that the federal government, in collaboration with a Chinese IT company, will issue certifications to 300,000 IT professionals. Speaking at a recent event, he revealed that 50,000 of these certifications will be distributed by 2025 through the NewTech platform.

Rana Ehsan Afzal emphasized the government’s commitment to economic development under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership. He mentioned that efforts are being made to reduce government expenditures, starting with the privatization of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and electricity distribution companies. He also acknowledged the challenges posed by the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) demands, which have necessitated difficult tax measures in return for a significant bailout. He noted that the government has allocated Rs. 50 billion to provide relief on electricity bills for at least 86 percent of consumers.
