Pakistan Creates History with Commonwealth Beach Handball Victory

Pakistan’s national team made history by clinching the first-ever Commonwealth Beach Handball Championship in the Maldives with a flawless run, winning all seven of their matches.

In the final, Pakistan outclassed Sri Lanka 2–0 with scores of 26–18 and 28–18, capping off a dominant campaign built on sharp tactics and exceptional teamwork.

Their journey began with a statement victory over arch-rivals India, thrashing them 26–9 and 34–12. From there, Pakistan went on to defeat Sri Lanka, Maldives, South Africa, and Bangladesh in the group stage, before overpowering Bangladesh again 2–0 in the semi-final.

Kashif Ali’s all-round brilliance stood out, especially in a tense 2–1 win against hosts Maldives. Muhammad Shahid Bashir and Ahmed Hassan Baig also proved instrumental with their leadership and consistency.

The Maldives secured third place after beating Bangladesh, while Pakistan’s triumph marks a breakthrough moment for the sport in the country, highlighting their discipline, teamwork, and growing presence on the international stage.
