Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir said Pakistan is a peace-loving country but will respond decisively to any aggression, just as it did in May.
Speaking at a luncheon in honour of Jordan’s King Abdullah II, he said he carries out his duties with full reliance on Allah’s guidance. He noted that when a believer trusts Allah, even small efforts can become powerful, adding that Pakistan’s victory against India was granted by Allah alone.
Munir credited recent national achievements to divine support and reminded attendees that true success comes only from Allah, citing Islamic traditions such as the Battle of Uhud.
After the meeting, he saw off King Abdullah II and briefly spoke with the British High Commissioner and US Ambassador. President Asif Ali Zardari described relations with the UK and US as close and longstanding.
King Abdullah praised Pakistan’s nuclear capability, its sacrifices in fighting terrorism, and the professionalism of its armed forces. His two-day visit concluded with agreements to boost bilateral cooperation and the signing of multiple MoUs.
