Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has issued a strong warning to Afghanistan, saying that Pakistan has “run out of patience” over the continued cross-border terrorist attacks. He urged the Afghan interim government to take immediate action against militant groups operating from its soil.

Asif said Pakistan has shown restraint for months despite repeated attacks targeting security forces and civilians. He emphasized that the country will no longer tolerate terrorism planned or executed from across the border.

The minister warned that if Afghanistan fails to act, Pakistan may be forced to take “unilateral measures” to protect its people and interests. He also reminded Kabul that maintaining peaceful ties requires mutual responsibility and respect for sovereignty.

According to Asif, terrorists have found safe havens in areas under Afghan control, posing a direct threat to Pakistan’s national security. He said the patience of the Pakistani state and its forces has limits, and Islamabad will act if provoked further.

Asif clarified that Pakistan does not desire confrontation but expects Kabul to fulfill its obligations and prevent militant infiltration. He added that cooperation, not conflict, is the only way forward for regional peace and development.

This warning comes as tensions between the two neighbors continue to rise, with Pakistan demanding that Afghanistan rein in groups responsible for repeated cross-border attacks.
