Pakistan Urges US to Retrieve Weapons Left in Afghanistan Amid Regional Security Concerns

Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has raised concerns over the ongoing security challenges in the region, urging the United States to retrieve the weapons it left behind during its withdrawal from Afghanistan. According to spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan, these weapons pose a serious threat to regional peace and stability, particularly for Pakistan, as they have fallen into the wrong hands.

Shafqat Ali Khan emphasized that while Pakistan desires positive relations with Afghanistan, Afghan soil is being used for terrorism against Pakistan. He stated that Pakistan has continuously urged the Afghan government to address this issue and prevent the misuse of its territory by extremist groups. The situation at the Torkham border, where Afghan forces have been constructing posts in disputed areas, has further escalated tensions, leading to the closure of the border. Pakistan condemns the unrest and calls on the Afghan interim government to take swift action to resolve the matter.

During the press briefing, Shafqat Ali Khan shared that Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar had a conversation with the US National Security Advisor, who expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s ongoing efforts in countering terrorism. The National Security Advisor also praised President Trump for his support in retrieving military equipment left in Afghanistan, signaling continued cooperation between the two nations.

UAE Foreign Minister’s Call to Strengthen Bilateral Relations

Shafqat Ali Khan also highlighted a phone conversation between Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and his UAE counterpart, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The UAE Foreign Minister congratulated Pakistan on the occasion of Ramadan, and both sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation. The positive outcomes of the UAE Crown Prince’s recent visit to Pakistan were appreciated, with both leaders focusing on expanding ties in various sectors.

Pakistan to Address Palestinian Issue at OIC Conference

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar is set to visit Saudi Arabia to participate in the upcoming Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) meeting in Jeddah. During the conference, he will address the Palestinian right to self-determination and Pakistan’s position on the deteriorating situation in Palestine. Shafqat Ali Khan revealed that Dar will highlight the Israeli aggression and humanitarian crisis in the region, condemning illegal proposals to displace Palestinians from their homeland. Pakistan remains firm in its unwavering support for the Palestinian cause.

Pakistan Condemns Israeli Restrictions on Gaza During Ramadan

Pakistan has strongly condemned Israel’s restrictions on Gaza during the holy month of Ramadan. According to Shafqat Ali Khan, the people of Gaza should be allowed to freely offer prayers in mosques during Ramadan. Pakistan also criticized Israel’s decision to block essential aid to Gaza, calling for an end to these restrictions in solidarity with the Palestinian people.
