Pakistan has urged the international community to respect Sudan’s sovereignty and immediately halt all forms of external interference in the country’s internal affairs. The statement comes amid escalating violence between rival factions in Sudan’s civil war.
In an official release, the Foreign Office emphasized that foreign involvement has only worsened the humanitarian crisis and prolonged the conflict. Islamabad called for a peaceful, Sudanese-led political process to restore stability and unity.
Pakistan expressed deep concern over the rising civilian casualties and destruction of infrastructure in Khartoum and other major cities. It reiterated that continued interference undermines regional peace and violates international law.
The statement further urged global powers to prioritize dialogue and diplomacy instead of fueling divisions through arms supplies and proxy support. It highlighted that peace in Sudan is essential for maintaining stability across the African region.
Islamabad reaffirmed its support for the United Nations and African Union’s efforts to mediate a ceasefire and deliver urgent humanitarian aid. The Foreign Office also stressed that Pakistan stands with the Sudanese people during this critical time.
Analysts see Pakistan’s stance as part of its broader foreign policy principle of non-interference, advocating peaceful resolutions to conflicts through mutual respect and cooperation. The call has been welcomed by several diplomatic circles.
