Pakistan, Turkiye Vow to Deepen Strategic Partnership During Shehbaz-Erdogan Talks

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reaffirmed their countries’ commitment to strengthening their strategic partnership during a high-level meeting in Istanbul. The interaction was described as “warm and most cordial” by the Prime Minister’s Office.

Accompanied by Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and senior cabinet members, Shehbaz highlighted the enduring brotherhood between the two nations. He expressed appreciation for Turkiye’s steadfast support during Pakistan’s recent conflict with India, calling it a “source of great strength.”

The two leaders reviewed bilateral ties, reaffirmed mutual support on key issues like Kashmir, and pledged to enhance cooperation in sectors such as defence, IT, energy, and agriculture. They also stressed the importance of implementing agreements from the recent High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council meeting held in Islamabad.

In addition to regional matters, both leaders voiced deep concern over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and jointly called for an immediate ceasefire and unhindered aid delivery.
