Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has announced that Pakistan will introduce enhanced security features in its passport to prevent forgery and improve document integrity.
The announcement came during his official visit to the Beijing Public Security Passport Bureau, where he reviewed China’s advanced passport issuance and immigration control systems. Director General Sun Yu welcomed him upon arrival.
During the visit, Mohsin Naqvi toured different departments of the Exit and Entry Administration Bureau. He observed the complete passport production process, including application submission, verification, printing, and final issuance. Chinese officials also briefed him on immigration policies and operational procedures.
The interior minister praised China’s entry-exit management system for its speed, efficiency, and reliability. He described it as a model for modern governance that Pakistan could learn from.
Mohsin Naqvi said Pakistan has already developed a fast and secure passport and immigration framework. However, the country is now upgrading the system to meet international standards. The upgrades will focus on technology-driven solutions, advanced security features, and faster processing for citizens.
He added that the modernization drive is part of Pakistan’s broader effort to strengthen document security and prevent misuse. The upgraded framework aims to reduce fraud, improve verification processes, and make immigration services more efficient.
Officials said the new passport system will enhance citizen confidence and increase Pakistan’s credibility internationally. By following China’s example, the government aims to build a reliable, secure, and streamlined passport and immigration system.
