This unique bilateral series comprising many games between the two countries is the first of its type.
The series’ second game will be played on March 27, while the championship game will be played on March 29. All the matches will be held after Iftar.
The Pakistani national squad will fly to Sharjah on March 23 to play the three-match series after the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season eight final is played on March 19.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) reports that both teams participated in a single ODI and a T20I in Sharjah in 2012 and 2013, respectively. Both games were victories for Pakistan.
Apart from this, only multi-team competitions have brought the two neighbouring nations together.
Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) Chairman Mirwais Ashraf planned for extending Afghanistan’s connections with Pakistan during this series.
“We are hopeful and looking forward to deepening our relationships with PCB and continuing our fruitful collaborations and frequent cricketing assignments with them, which will help us further enhance our squad and cricket as a whole.
