Pakistan To Host First Maritime Investment Conference To Boost Blue Economy

Pakistan is set to host its first-ever Maritime Investment Conference in 2025 to promote investment and strengthen the country’s blue economy. The announcement was made by Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry during a high-level meeting on Wednesday.

The minister said the Maritime Investment Conference will serve as a major platform to highlight both local and international opportunities in Pakistan’s maritime sector. The goal is to attract sustainable investments that can enhance the country’s maritime infrastructure and economic potential.

During the meeting, officials discussed key aspects of the upcoming conference, including the date, venue, and thematic areas. The event will showcase investment prospects in several critical areas such as port development, marine transport, fisheries, shipbuilding, and coastal tourism. These sectors, the minister emphasized, are vital for driving economic diversification and sustainable growth.

Chaudhry said the conference will help position Pakistan as a regional hub for maritime innovation and trade. He highlighted that collaboration between the public and private sectors will be essential for achieving long-term progress in maritime development.

A major part of the meeting focused on planning a comprehensive media and branding campaign to attract participation from global investors, financial institutions, and development partners. Officials agreed that the Maritime Investment Conference will mark a “significant milestone” in Pakistan’s efforts to strengthen its maritime economy.

The minister also directed relevant departments to finalize templates for investment proposals and project submissions. This step aims to make the evaluation and approval process faster and more transparent for new ventures in the maritime sector.

With the Maritime Investment Conference 2025, Pakistan hopes to unlock new economic opportunities, enhance global partnerships, and promote sustainable use of its marine resources—marking a major step forward in developing the nation’s blue economy.
