Pakistan T20I Squad Begins Training in New Zealand Ahead of Series

Pakistan’s T20I squad kicked off their training at Hagley Oval on Friday in preparation for their five-match series against New Zealand. Under the watchful eyes of the coaching staff, the players engaged in intense net sessions and fielding drills. The series follows Pakistan’s disappointing performance in the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025, where they finished last in Group A without securing a single victory.

Led by newly-appointed captain Salman Ali Agha, the team arrived in New Zealand on Thursday and took a rest day before resuming their training regimen. Another training session is scheduled for Saturday at the same venue. Salman expressed optimism in a press conference, stating that the team, with its blend of youth and experience, is ready to bounce back and perform well in the T20I series.

The five-match T20I series will begin on March 16, with the subsequent matches scheduled for March 18, 21, 23, and 26. The final two games will take place in Mount Maunganui and Wellington, respectively.

Pakistan’s squad includes several promising young players alongside seasoned veterans, while New Zealand, captained by Michael Bracewell, will feature a strong lineup as well.
