Pakistan has put forward a major proposal to the United States, suggesting a bilateral trade agreement with zero tariffs to strengthen economic ties.
According to reports, the proposal was made in response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s expressed interest in boosting trade with Pakistan. The proposed agreement would focus on mutual cooperation by removing tariffs on selected goods.

Pakistan aims to broaden its trade relationship with the U.S. across various sectors.
This initiative follows President Trump’s involvement in facilitating a ceasefire between Pakistan and India. After the agreement, Trump commended the leadership of both countries and expressed his desire to pursue expanded trade relations.
He also implied that the ceasefire was partly achieved through trade-related incentives.
With the recent de-escalation of tensions between the two nuclear neighbors, prospects for enhanced Pakistan–U.S. trade have improved.
The ceasefire was declared on Saturday after one of the most serious military confrontations in recent times, raising international alarm over the risk of a large-scale conflict.
Hostilities erupted when India reportedly attacked a mosque and civilians in Pakistan on Wednesday. In retaliation, Pakistan launched “Operation Bunyun-un-Marsoos,” targeting Indian military installations.
The Pakistan Air Force claimed it shot down six Indian aircraft, including three Rafale fighter jets and a drone.
