The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has officially started examining hockey clubs to ensure the upcoming Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) elections are conducted in a transparent and credible manner.
A PSB spokesperson said the scrutiny process is being carried out under a jointly approved mechanism. While the PHF will implement the process, the PSB will maintain full supervision to guarantee fairness.
“All hockey clubs, whether established or newly formed, will be reviewed according to approved criteria to ensure they are eligible to participate in the elections,” the spokesperson added.
Joint Committee to Oversee Scrutiny
A Joint National Committee for Scrutiny of Clubs has been formed, including representatives from both the PSB and PHF. Club information is being collected through an online portal. The PSB has full supervisory and audit access to monitor every stage of the process.
The scrutiny will mainly focus on documents submitted by the clubs. Each club will have a one-time opportunity to correct deficiencies. Once the process is completed, provisional and final lists of eligible clubs will be published.
Objections and Adjudication
A formal objection mechanism has been set up. Clubs may file objections within a specified period. Initial review will be done by the PHF, while final decisions will be made by a PSB-designated adjudicator. These decisions will be final for election purposes.
Physical Verification
To strengthen credibility, the PSB will also conduct random physical checks of selected hockey clubs. Inspectors will verify the club’s existence and its declared home grounds.

The PSB warned that any scrutiny or election process outside the jointly approved framework will not be recognized. Authorities said these measures aim to ensure a fair, constitutional, and rule-based election for the PHF.
