Salman Ali Agha scored a brilliant 63, helping Pakistan post 221 runs in their third innings, their highest third-innings score in Test cricket this year. This gave England a challenging target of 296 to chase in the second Test in Multan.
Previously, Pakistan’s best third-innings score was 220, also against England in the first match. Other third-innings scores this year include 115 against Australia and 146 and 172 against Bangladesh.

With Pakistan struggling at 158/8, Salman Ali Agha and Sajid Ali formed a crucial partnership, adding 65 runs for the 9th wicket. They eventually fell in quick succession, leaving England a target of 297.
By the end of Day 3, England were 36/2, with Sajid Khan and Noman Ali claiming key wickets, including centurion Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope. England needs 261 runs to win in the remaining two days.
