A Pakistani meat processing and exporting company has recommenced the shipment of fresh chilled meat to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by sea. This comes after they improved their packaging to meet the standards set by UAE authorities.
The UAE had previously announced a suspension of chilled fresh beef imports from Pakistan via sea, starting on October 10, due to concerns about the quality of goods supplied by an unnamed entity. Pakistan annually exports approximately $144 million worth of meat to the UAE.

Faisal Hussain, the CEO of Organic Meat Company Limited (TOMCL), has confirmed that they have resumed exports, and they expect to return to previous shipment levels within the next 8-10 days. Before regular shipments started, sample meat productions were sent for approval to the UAE government, and they received the green light. Therefore, Hussain assured that there are no issues with the GCC, and UAE exports will continue.
Pakistan stands as one of the world’s leading meat producers and has witnessed substantial growth in meat exports over the last decade, primarily serving the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations.
