The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has reduced liquefied natural gas prices for September 2026. The revised rates apply to Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited and Sui Southern Gas Company Limited.
The reductions announced by OGRA exceed 20 percent for both gas distribution companies. The revised prices will apply from September 1, 2026.
According to an official notification, the regulator reduced the Re-Gasified Liquefied Natural Gas price for SNGPL. The cut amounts to Rs. 1,061 per million British thermal units.
The reduction represents 20.14 percent compared with the previous rate. Following the adjustment, the new RLNG price for SNGPL stands at $15.1963 per MMBtu.
The regulator also announced a reduction for SSGC. Its RLNG price has been lowered by Rs. 1,083 per MMBtu.
The reduction for SSGC represents 21.57 percent. The company’s revised RLNG price has been set at $14.2233 per MMBtu.
The new rates are effective from September 1, 2026. They will apply to RLNG supplied through the respective gas companies during the month.
RLNG is used in Pakistan’s energy system for several purposes. It supports gas supplies for power generation and other consumers.
The latest adjustment changes the cost at which RLNG is supplied through the two major gas companies. SNGPL and SSGC serve different regions of the country.
The price revision was issued through an OGRA notification. The regulator periodically reviews and determines RLNG prices based on applicable pricing mechanisms.
