The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) on Friday said that terror attacks from Afghanistan have increased since the Taliban assumed control. Pakistan reaffirmed that it will not engage in talks with any terrorist groups.
During a press briefing in Islamabad, ministry spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi said the Taliban regime is attempting to present acts of terrorism as a humanitarian issue. He stressed that Pakistan will not negotiate with any terrorist organizations, including the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA).
Andrabi warned against showing sympathy for individuals or groups supporting terrorists. He said Pakistan has shown maximum restraint despite repeated terror attacks. Statements from the Afghan regime, he added, are “empty claims” and do not reflect reality.
The spokesperson also addressed recent international remarks, saying India attempted to misrepresent statements made by former United States President Donald Trump about Pakistan. He emphasized that Pakistan remains fully committed to safeguarding national security.
Authorities noted that terror attacks originating from Afghan soil have intensified challenges along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. Security forces continue to strengthen border management and intelligence coordination to prevent further incidents.
The ministry highlighted that Pakistan’s firm stance against terrorism is unwavering. Officials said the country will continue to implement diplomatic and security measures to ensure the safety of its citizens.
Pakistan has repeatedly urged the international community to hold the Taliban accountable for preventing terrorist activities on Afghan territory. Officials stressed that lasting peace in the region depends on eliminating safe havens for terrorist groups.
