With a score of 26.1, Pakistan faces a serious level of hunger, underscoring the severity of the situation.

The Global Hunger Index, co-published by Welthungerhilfe and Concern Worldwide annually, aims to raise awareness and understanding of the worldwide struggle against hunger. The latest report emphasizes how armed conflicts, climate change, and the COVID-19 pandemic are exacerbating each other’s impact, leading to a staggering number of people experiencing hunger, which reached 828 million individuals in 2021.

Notably, hunger remains most severe in Africa, especially South of the Sahara, and South Asia. South Asia stands out as the region with the highest hunger level, facing alarming child stunting and wasting rates compared to other regions globally.
