Pakistan ranks 17th among the world’s most generous countries, according to the World Giving Report 2025. The report was released by the Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (PCP) in partnership with the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF), UK.
The World Giving Report ranks countries based on three key acts of kindness: helping strangers, donating money, and volunteering time. Pakistan performed well in all three categories. It especially stood out in individual donations, ranking 17th globally in the share of income given.
Shazia Maqsood Amjad, Executive Director of PCP, said this achievement shows Pakistan’s strong culture of generosity. She added that despite economic difficulties, people in Pakistan continue to give generously. This includes donating money and volunteering to help others in need.
The report highlights Pakistan’s long history of charitable giving. Traditional practices such as Zakat and informal donations are important parts of society. These acts provide support to millions across the country, creating a social safety net for many vulnerable groups.
PCP’s research also shows that Pakistanis actively support various causes. These include health care, education, disaster relief, and poverty reduction. The report reflects the growing role of philanthropy in Pakistan’s development.
Worldwide, the World Giving Report 2025 shows that generosity remains strong even in tough economic times. Pakistan’s ranking reflects the nation’s resilience and commitment to helping others. It confirms that philanthropy is an important part of Pakistan’s social fabric.
The Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy plans to continue promoting giving in the country. It aims to build strong partnerships between civil society, the government, and the private sector. This will help create a more effective and sustainable system for charitable work in Pakistan.
Overall, Pakistan’s position in the World Giving Report highlights the country’s valuable role in global generosity and community support.
