Pakistan Railways has introduced new reforms to enhance passenger facilities, with a special focus on women and persons with disabilities. The initiatives were approved during a meeting chaired by Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi.
The minister said gender-sensitive protocols will soon be enforced across stations and trains to provide women with safe, respectful, and comfortable travel. To support this, awareness posters, public announcements, and training sessions for staff will be rolled out under a broader campaign on women’s safety.
For differently-abled passengers, refurbished trains will feature dedicated seating, while major stations will be equipped with wheelchairs to ensure more accessible and dignified travel.
Minister Abbasi emphasized that these reforms reflect Pakistan Railways’ commitment to building a modern, inclusive, and passenger-friendly transport system.
