Pakistan Railways has introduced a special tourist train to promote tourism in the Thar Desert region. The initiative aims to attract travelers and highlight the unique beauty of the desert.
The train will operate from Karachi Cantonment Station to Khokhrapar Zero Point, passing through Chhor. Passengers will get a chance to experience the desert’s scenic landscapes and cultural heritage.
The journey will start from Karachi at 9:00 am on December 20, reaching Chhor by 5:00 pm. Tourists will have the option to stay overnight in Chhor, with camping facilities, bonfires, music, and dinner provided. Guests can also choose accommodation at a local guest house for an additional fee.
On December 21, the train will depart from Chhor at 7:00 am and continue to Zero Point. Passengers will enjoy breakfast at Zero Point and have time to explore nearby tourist and recreational sites. After the tour, the train will return to Karachi, arriving by 6:00 pm the same day.
Officials from Pakistan Railways said the tourist train is part of broader efforts to boost domestic tourism and promote the Thar Desert as a unique travel destination. The service is designed to offer travelers a safe, comfortable, and memorable experience.
