Islamabad recently recorded a concerning Air Quality Index (AQI) of 268, significantly exceeding the World Health Organization’s (WHO) recommended air quality limits by 38.7%. Health authorities have advised people, particularly those with respiratory issues, to wear masks as a precaution against the hazardous air.

The Met Department has forecast persistent dry weather for Islamabad and nearby areas, with potential smog and fog. Across Punjab, smog and fog are expected in cities such as Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Sialkot, Hafizabad, and Toba Tek Singh, and likely to spread to Jhang, Narowal, Attock, Jhelum, and more. In South Punjab, areas including Bahawalpur, Multan, and Dera Ghazi Khan are also expected to experience smog.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will see similar weather in Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, and Dera Ismail Khan. Sindh’s Sukkur, Larkana, and Kashmore areas are also forecasted for foggy conditions. Meanwhile, Balochistan’s hilly areas are likely to experience colder mornings and nights.
