Pakistan is moving toward a complete digital transformation of its postal services under a major reform initiative. The project aims to modernize Pakistan Post and align it with international standards.
The Ministry of Communications has launched the Automation of Post Office Project, financed by the Export-Import Bank of Korea. This initiative will replace Pakistan Post’s mostly manual operations with a fully digital and integrated system.
Under the plan, all post offices in Pakistan will be equipped with modern IT terminals, specialized software, and secure connectivity. Postal staff will receive comprehensive training, and ongoing operational support will ensure the system runs efficiently.
Officials said the digital overhaul will strengthen key functions, including mail management, parcel tracking, financial services, and internal administration. Real-time processing will improve transparency and reduce delays, while automated workflows will minimize human errors caused by paper-based procedures.
The new system is designed to allow real-time data sharing and transaction processing across the country. Citizens and businesses in Pakistan are expected to benefit from faster, more reliable postal services and accurate tracking of mail and parcels.
