Pakistan Navy Welcomes 2 Modern Warships in Induction Ceremony

Today, the Pakistan Navy held an induction ceremony for its two advanced Type 054 A/P Frigates, PNS Shahjahan and PNS Tipu Sultan, at Karachi. The event was graced by the Federal Minister of Defense, Khawaja Asif, who commended the Navy’s efforts in safeguarding the nation’s maritime defense and promoting regional peace.

The addition of these modern frigates is a significant milestone in the ongoing modernization of Pakistan’s naval capabilities. The Naval Chief expressed pride in the induction of these cutting-edge vessels, which demonstrate the country’s commitment to enhancing its naval strength. The Type 054 A/P Frigates are equipped with advanced technology, making them formidable assets for the Pakistan Navy’s various missions.

With a displacement of approximately 4,000 tons, a length of 134 meters, and a range of over 4,500 nautical miles, these versatile frigates come equipped with state-of-the-art sensors, advanced weapons systems, and robust command and control capabilities.

The Naval Chief also extended gratitude to the Government of Pakistan for their unwavering support in funding modernization projects, enabling the acquisition of such advanced assets.
