Minister Says Pakistan Manages Fuel Supply Better Than Others

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Finance Minister Muzzammil Aslam praised the federal government for managing Pakistan’s Fuel effectively. He highlighted the efforts of Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and Federal Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik in maintaining uninterrupted fuel availability.

The federal and provincial leaders met to discuss fuel prices and subsidy reforms, in line with directives from the President and Prime Minister. The Petroleum Division confirmed that fuel stocks remain stable and sufficient across the country, ensuring supply continuity for all regions.

The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication proposed technological solutions to implement a targeted subsidy system for fuel. The plan aims to improve transparency, efficiency, and ensure subsidies reach the intended recipients effectively.

Provincial leaders shared their perspectives on fuel policy. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah praised the federal government for stable fuel supplies and encouraged citizens to practice conservation. Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb stressed passing international fuel price reductions directly to consumers. Balochistan Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani also contributed to policy discussions.

The Finance Division noted limited fiscal space, mainly derived from fuel levy revenues, and emphasized that relief measures must maintain macroeconomic stability. Senator Aurangzeb urged structural reforms and data-driven decisions to ensure responsible consumption while keeping policies fiscally prudent.

Participants agreed to speed up the finalization of a targeted fuel subsidy framework using technology. They also committed to continued coordination between federal and provincial governments. The meeting included chief ministers, federal ministers for petroleum and IT, federal secretaries, chief secretaries, and senior officials including the Chairman NADRA.

With these measures, Pakistan aims to maintain fuel stability while improving subsidy efficiency and transparency for citizens.
