ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s government activated its Crisis Management Unit (CMU) on Sunday to assist citizens stranded in Syria as the conflict-ridden country saw the fall of the Assad family’s five-decade-long rule.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged Pakistanis in Syria and their families to contact the CMU for support. Assistance is available via phone at 051-9207887 or email at [email protected]. Rebels led by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) claimed victory after capturing key cities like Aleppo, Hama, and Homs before advancing into Damascus. President Bashar al-Assad reportedly fled, marking the collapse of his regime, although official confirmation remains pending.
